About The Author
Donna James Upshaw loves adventure! Growing up she had no
TV. She spent much time in the local library reading and in the
great outdoors. This created a thirst for knowledge, travel,
creativity and appreciation for nature. She hunted and fished
regularly and was an athlete.
She is an author, educator, chaplain, women’s mentor and speaker.
She considers her greatest role as Nana to her seven grandchildren
strung all over the nation and to her three great granddaughters.
Violet's Magical Hat
This is the story of a little girl named Violet and her magical hat. The hat was made for her by her papa. Neither of them knew the hat had magic in it. They took a walk one day with papa pulling Violet in the big wagon with red wheels.
The hat took on a life of its’ own and flew on to the heads of children she passed who have been injured and then on to a puppy. Each time it does so it brings joy and comfort. Papa and Violet are so happy and excited, they return home to tell Mimi Crystal about the magic in the hat. The magic in the hat is love and papa ends up making hats in his workshop to help others.
